Sienna

Sienna is famous for a horse racing event that is quite dangerous, the horse race occurs through the town. The town contains rivals that are divided by flags (Basically horse racing families. The dangerous part of the race is its not in a controlled environment, the danger is to both the jockeys but more so the horses. I am not too impressed that this is still occuring in this day an age, its the same reaction I have to bull fighting. I am not a strong animal rights activists by any sense but I think some customs from contries that are supposed to be "modern", shouldn't exist in this present day.

The city does have character, good food, especially mushrooms which are now in full harvest. I only stayed a few hours and headed off to Orvietto, a city that exists on a hill top and is famous for a huge romanesque church.
